Mechanical seals have replaced traditional gland packing in many applications, as their performance often exceeds the complex requirements of the pressures and speeds involved.

However, competition from magnetically coupled pumps is also on the rise in this sector. A wide range of industries have very specific requirements regarding mechanical seals and the choice of materials. Whether it be:

• chemical resistance
• a standard (e.g. API)
• Approved for use in the food and pharmaceutical industries and resistant to CIP solutions
• the option of cooling or heating, or
