Flange calculations

The TEMESfl.cal software is used to calculate flange connections in accordance with DIN EN 1591-1, using gasket parameters in accordance with DIN EN 13555 or the draft of KTA 3211.2 (March 2003), according to which flange joints can be analysed for both primary and secondary load paths. The calculation method in accordance with ASME BVPC Section VIII is also available as a standalone module.

One notable feature is the seal database, which contains the properties of numerous seal materials from various manufacturers; these are constantly adjusted to meet the requirements during the calculation using a special algorithm.

The behaviour of the gasketed joint is analysed under defined load conditions. Temperatures, pressures, external forces and moments can be specified for this purpose. Requirements regarding the required leak-tightness classes, specific assembly values or the assembly method can also be defined.

To evaluate the results, the flange and bolt stresses, the contact pressure on the sealing surfaces, the bolt elongation, the flange face inclination and compliance with the tightness requirements are reported for each load condition. The calculation results can be printed in reports, saved and copied into other Windows applications.
